šŸ° Introducing ā€˜Make Art ā€“ Eat Cakeā€™: A New Creative Event Series

šŸŽ‰ Make Art ā€“ Eat Cake

Launching on Monday 28 April at The Front Gallery and Cafe in Lyneham, this event is a cosy, joyful celebration of creativity, connection, and (you guessed it) cake!

What is Make Art ā€“ Eat Cake?

Itā€™s a relaxed, beginner-friendly visual art workshop designed for anyone who wants to explore their creativity in a welcoming space. Whether youā€™re an experienced artist or havenā€™t picked up a paintbrush in years, youā€™re invited to join us for:

  • Two hours of hands-on art making

  • Coffee and delicious cake

  • A warm, inclusive atmosphere

  • All materials providedā€”just bring yourself!

Inspired by the popularity of "paint and sip" events, I wanted to offer something a little differentā€”something slower, more mindful, and deeply focused on skill-building and creative play.

ā€œDonā€™t get me wrongā€”I love a good paint and sip! But I wanted to create a space where people could really learn, connect, and walk away proud of what theyā€™ve made. And what better pairing than art and cake?ā€

A Collaboration with Local Women in Business

This event wouldnā€™t be possible without the incredible Carly Branch, manager of The Front Cafe and a passionate supporter of Canberraā€™s creative scene. From the very beginning, Carly has been a champion of this idea and Iā€™m so lucky to be working with her.

ā€œCarly has been so enthusiastic and supportive from day one. Itā€™s been wonderful to collaborate with someone who shares the same passion for building creative opportunities in our community.ā€
