Learn how to create shadow puppetry from everyday materials and embed storytelling and puppetry techniques into your individual lesson plans for your students.

Suitable for teachers of all levels. Taught by internationally trained puppeteer and registered teacher, Marianne Mettes. If you are a registered ACT teacher, you will be able to get 2 hours of accredited TQI hours.

You will learn:

  • How to create a simple shadow screen and puppets using recycled items

  • Learn professional puppetry techniques

  • Learn how to embed shadow puppetry and literacy within your curriculum

  • Learn how to include puppetry into your lesson plans and sequences

  • Gain valuable feedback on your lesson ideas and puppetry techniques

  • What: Shadow puppetry workshop for teachers (2 hours of TQI accreditation included)

  • Where: Gungahlin Community Centre, 47 Ernest Cavanagh St, Gungahlin ACT 2912

  • When: Thursday afternoon, 8 May 4-6pm

  • Experience/prerequisites: No experience required. This course is suitable for adult learners only (ages 16+)

  • Cost: $95 for one 2 hour session

  • Materials: All materials provided, but encouraged to bring your own notebook, pencils/pens.
